Disposable Vape Ban 2025: When is the disposables ban?

The UK government has confirmed that disposable vapes will be banned nationwide starting 1st June 2025. This legislation applies to England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, prohibiting the sale of non-rechargeable, non-refillable vaping devices. The ban aims to reduce environmental waste and encourage sustainable alternatives.

Under the new rules, only reusable vapes (with refillable pods or e-liquid tanks) will remain legal. However, adult nicotine users also have another innovative option: tobacco-leaf-free nicotine pouches like ZYN*, which offer a smoke-free experience.

Key Dates Leading to the Disposable Vape Ban

This change in legislation has been in discussion for a long time and there were a number of events that lead to this decision.

In January 2024, the UK government first announced plans to introduce a ban on disposable vapes.1

The disposable vape ban was originally planned to take effect on 1 April 2025; however, the ban was delayed to its current effective date.

1st June 2025: The disposable vape ban will come into effect. It will no longer be legal for business to sell disposable vapes either in store or online.

Life After the Disposable Vape Ban: Your Alternatives

With disposable vapes phased out, nicotine users have two paths: quitting nicotine usage or switching to another alternative. For those looking for a nicotine alternative, ZYN nicotine pouches offer a modern and discreet choice.

Benefits of Nicotine Pouches

- No Vaping Required: ZYN pouches are placed discreetly under the lip, delivering nicotine without inhalation.

- Zero Electrical Waste: Unlike disposable vapes, ZYN uses no batteries.

- Flexible Options: Choose from multiple strengths (e.g., 3mg, 6mg, 11.5mg) and flavours like Cool Mint, Citrus and Coffee.

- Compliance: Fully compliant with the 2025 ban, as they’re not classified as vaping products.

Always ensure nicotine products are kept out of reach of children. ZYN is intended for adult nicotine users aged 18+. The best option that any adult nicotine user can make is to quit nicotine use entirely. *The nicotine in ZYN is derived from tobacco but ZYN does not contain tobacco leaf.
