Nominations Now Closed for 2007 Tibbetts Awards

Nominations are now closed for the 2007 Tibbetts Awards.

"A nomination package (containing a cover sheet, nomination statement, supporting documentation, photographs, Congressional and media contacts) is required for all submissions.

Tibbetts Award nomination packages are due by July 15, 2007.

Date Extended!! Tibbetts Award nomination packages are due by August 12, 2007.

Submission of Tibbetts Award nomination packages must be in electronic PDF format, no hard copy will be accepted.

Nomination packages must include:

  • Basic Information Cover Sheet: All contact information for Nominator and Nominee - name(s), affiliation, address, voice and fax numbers and e-mail address.
  • Nomination statement: A concise 1-2-page statement on the nature of the activity and/or achievement for which the Nominee(s) are considered eligible to receive the honor and recognition of a Tibbetts Award. Published material on selected Awardees will be prepared from this statement. Emphasis should be primarily on the business and economic achievement and NOT about the technology - see indicators of Tibbetts Awards criteria.
  • Supporting documentation: Support letters along with additional information about the company or project and the developed technology(ies)
  • 250 Word Statement: On the importance of SBIR to the Company, organization or specific technology involved.
  • Photographs: Portraits or group photographs are generally not a good choice.
  • Media and professional contacts: Listing of media (professional and mass, print and electronic) - include all relevant contact information.

Who May Nominate?

Nominators may include:

  • SBIR awardees* past and current
  • SBIR program managers and other Federal agency personnel
  • Elected officials-Federal and state
  • State and regional support organizations
  • Professional service providers and those in the financial community generally involved in the SBIR program and with particular nominees
  • Associates of large firms, federal labs, academic institutions and others in collaborations on SBIR funded projects(s)
