Here is background information on the current story about Nydia Velazquez (House Small Business Committee's chair) and the committee's Views & Estimates document for the SBA FY-2011 budget. The March 4, 2010 document referenced in the committee's March 4 hearing to mark up and accept the Views & Estimates document (see www.zyn.com/sbir/insider/sb-insider03-09-10.htm to view the acceptance in the hearing). Page 20 of the document contains the offensive and ignorant verbiage: March 4 Document (9mb) After our March 9 SBIR Insider was published (see www.zyn.com/sbir/insider/sb-insider03-09-10.htm ) the committee released a new document dated March 11, but was available from Thomas on March 10, 2011. The offending language was removed (along with several other issues): March 11 document The SBIR Insider received many calls and emails from irate small businesses who read our March 9 issue of the SBIR Insider, and they sent emails and called their representatives as well as the house leadership to voice their outrage.
