NEWS FROM AROUND THE REGION HANDOUT NEEDED FOR NEGOTIATIONS The American Federation of Technology Transfer Executives (AFTTE) winter meeting in San Jose included an excellent critique by both parties to an ongoing CRADA negotiation. Confusion and wasted time could be saved, however, if a negotiable vs. non-negotiable summary handout were available that could be discussed early in the negotiations. The handout should briefly cite the legal basis for the non-negotiables. The president of AFTTE agreed to have a "straw man" drafted and provided to us for the inevitable tuning each lab would want to do. This could be a big help. If anyone has something similar already drafted, please send one electronically, ideally as an attachment to email, so it could be fine-tunied without retyping.
