There's a New Deputy Out West

Dr. Michael E. Sullivan will be serving out the term for the Far West Regional Deputy Coordinator, Cookie West, who retired late last year.

As Head of the Technology Development Projects Office for the Navy at Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division-Point Mugu (PM), California, Dr. Sullivan also currently heads the Capability Development Branch in the Sea Range Office at the Weapons Division. His responsibilities include the Technology Transfer Program (TTP), Modeling & Simulation Program (M&S), Independent Research & Development Program (IR&D), Advanced Technology Demonstration Programs (ATDs), Central Test & Evaluation Program (CTEIP), and Internal Discretionary Fund - Bids & Proposals and Management Support Items.

Beside being assigned to Point Mugu, Mike has had two Pentagon assignments, one for eighteen months in 1988, and a three year stint in 1993 with Chief of Naval Operations, RADM Houley, Director of Test & Evaluation and Technology Requirements in the RDT&E Infrastructure Division.

Last November, Mike was elected Member-At-Large by the FLC membership. His goals, as a Member-At-Large, include helping the FLC: to develop a clear five year vision and plan that meets the demands of the 21st century (Vision 21); to establish forums to bring organizations, people, and companies together for the purpose of coordinating technology transfer efforts; and to strengthen communication among FLC members, between other organizations, and the private and public sectors by providing more effective electronic linkages and networks.
