Aug 12, 2010Crafting Federal Cost/Budget Proposals (SM)Worcester, MA
Satisfaction is GUARANTEED with this event or your tuition refunded.
- download a PDF brochure here

WPI, NDIA New England and Burns & Levinson LLP will co-host this federal contractor's event in Worcester, MA (discounts provided to members/affiliates of hosts).

This workshop equips entrepreneurs and project managers (not accountants) to craft the one common foundation in ALL proposals, THE BUDGET. The focus is on building a "smart" and legal document under the rules of federal law. Thus, it includes a special module to equip you to properly estimate those all important INDIRECT COST RATES (Overhead, G&A, F&A) and another to help prepare contract winners for the financial audits.

When you make the decision to apply for government work, you place every subsequent action you take in that regard under federal law -- people have gone to jail for not understanding/following these laws. When you submit, you are not only binding your firm to do business in a certain way, but you’re also testifying, under penalty of law, that everything in your application, including the budget, was carefully and properly crafted, is accurate and that all assertions made therein are true.

Be sure you know how to not just avoid trouble, but to use your budget to evoke positive responses in its reviewers (look smart, appear to be efficient, differentiate yourself from the competition, help the technical reviewers choose you, prepare to run your contract/grant successfully, etc.). Much more than just an obligatory piece of paper with numbers on it, the budget can heavily affect your chances of winning -- in a number of ways.

This event is led by a career project manager & professional proposal expert -- NOT an accountant. You will learn the practical and useful side of federal contract cost accounting in everyday language, not accountant speak.

Note that, although not SBIR-specific, this workshop is just two days after the 10 Aug. How To Win SBIR Awards(SM) event (see above) - discounts are provided for attending both events.
